Biography

Constantine or Kostis, aka Coach Psi ‘Ψ’ or Prof. Psi ‘Ψ’, returns back to MIT after a career move at the College up the street (Harvard), and an administrative position as secretary working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic at the Consulate General of Greece in Boston, mostly around cultural, science and sport diplomacy.

A dual citizen (US and Greek) and Bostonian since 2004, Kostis first came to MIT in 2012 to work as Assistant Director of Fitness, coordinating operations at the Zesiger Sports and Alumni Wang Fitness centers. He has been a National Champion and a member of the Pre-Olympic team of Greece for Mountain Biking training for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, and was a team leader at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. Upon the request of MIT’s Cycling Team, he had been ‘wearing the hat’ of ‘Coach Psi’ from 2013-2018 and is proud to have led the team to the 2014 ECCC Championship and the 2016 USA National Championship (Check the trophy!) while training the mountain bikers of MIT and Harvard.

His hobbies include learning new foreign languages (Constantine can communicate in English, Greek, German, French and Italian), playing piano and guitar, traveling around the world together with Calliopi who teaches Modern Greek literature at Harvard, his five year old son Spiro (a prospective MIT student) and three year old daughter Erato, and dreaming endlessly.
