David is a post-doctoral fellow of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center at the Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT and a post-doc in the Shalek lab. David works on improving the way knowledge from Molecular Biology is leveraged in Machine Learning methods to understand cellular systems. This work is motivated by his education in Biochemistry and Machine Learning: He obtained a Bachelor degree in Natural Sciences with a focus on Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge, a Masters degree in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics with a focus on Machine Learning at ETH Zurich and University of Zurich, completing his master thesis project at UC Berkeley with Nir Yosef, and a PhD with Fabian Theis at the Technical University of Munich, working on machine learning method development for single-cell and spatial omics.
