Biography

Sarah is a research technician in the TB space at the Shalek lab. In May of 2024 Sarah earned a B.S in Biology, and was an English major as well at Davidson College. She spent her senior year at Davidson in Dr.Thurtle-Schmidt’s biochemistry lab working on a bacterial defense system characterization project. She studied the impacts of Walker A and Walker B motif mutations on the efficacy of phage defense conferred by a retron defense system. Sarah is passionate about biochemistry and excited about entering the field of single-cell technology and research. Sarah is a pescatarian who is always looking for good seafood to try, and in her free time she loves to read, and workout.
