Biography

DK is a Research Technician at the Shalek lab. Originally from Lagos, Nigeria, DK moved to the US to pursue an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of New Hampshire. At UNH, he worked on bulk, bioreactor based isolation of DNA with the goal of developing novel DNA materials with tunable properties. Before joining the Shalek lab, DK worked as a Research Associate in the Chen lab, at the Broad Institute, where he worked on optimizing spatial multiomic technologies and applied them to spatially map and profile a variety of human tumor sample types.

DK is interested in synthetic biology, protein biochemistry and cancer biology. Outside of the lab, DK enjoys learning new languages, gardening, cooking and rollerskating.
