Biography
Samira is a research technician in the Shalek Lab, where she focuses on understanding the immune response to tuberculosis. She grew up in the South Shore area of Massachusetts, and moved to Baltimore to attend Johns Hopkins University. While at Hopkins, she spent three years working in the Kim lab studying chromosome dynamics during meiosis in C. elegans, and she majored in molecular and cellular Biology.
Outside of work, Samira enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music and podcasts, and trying to get better at playing piano.
