Biography

Originally from East Africa in Burundi, Sarah moved to the US to pursue her undergraduate studies at Millikin University where she majored in Chemistry. During her undergrad, she worked with Prof Anne Rodriguez to study the different molecular and cellular approaches that take place in a person’s brain with Alzheimer’s Disease. Sarah currently works as a research associate in the Shalek lab on the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN) project. Her interests consist in applying single cell technologies to understand the tumor microenvironment as well as the immune system responses to different pathogens. In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling, spending time with family/friends, enjoying outdoor activities and drinking coffee.
